Black and White nature series...

The valley where I live is such a great place to just drive around and look at the scenery. It's a great place to get photos, and that's just what I did!!!! This style of pic is called art photography...it doesn't appeal to everyone, but then some people buy it, frame it and put it up in their houses. LOL, there is a guy at our local mall every christmas who sets up his kiosk and sells his photography...and let me tell you, they are not cheap. HMMMM, maybe I will start selling mine!!!!!

Dory and Pacey...

OK...so I am the first to admit that my cute little Dory will terrorise the cats (which frankly sometimes I think they deserve it!!!!!). That aside Dory loves the cats, and while the little cat would never be caught dead snuggling with Dory, Pacey actually likes it!!!!
I mean seriously, how stickin' cute is that???? It looks like Pcaey is whispering in Dory's ear!!!! This snuggling happens all the time, but sniffing her ear was too cute! AND, Dory actually looks l8ike she is listening, even though she is deaf!

Mahone Bay...

I had just got my new lens for the camera so Trent and I decided that it would be nice to try it out (expecially since I had a sporting event to take pictures for that night)....so we decided to go to Mahone bay because it's a cute little place.
We asked Trent's mom to come along with us. We didn't do much. We took some pics, did a little walking around, had some lunch, and looked in a few shops. Of course, we couldn't leave Mahone bay without stopping at the Cheesecake Gallery (though as an after thought, I wish we had gotten it somewhere else because it was $20.00 for 3 small pieces of cheesecake!
There was a fire in Mahone bay that damaged a restaurant and another building. It seemed to be mostly at the tops of the buildings, but Trent wanted a pic of it so here it is!!
The scenery at Mahone Bay is lovely with it's boats, and churches and other intresting things! There is this place called the wooden monster and this is where I got the picture of the wooden bird. I though it was pretty neat!
The churches in Mahone Bay are well know because they basically stand side by side. EVERYONE gets photos of these and yes, I did to. They were doing some repair on them so I tried not to get too much of it in the photo...also during the day people park infront of them so it is IMPOSSIBLE to get one during the day without cars,LOL!!!
I cannot tell you how awesome my new lense is!!!! I was so far away from these churches. We actually drove away from them, and parked on the side of the road and I took these photos from across the water!!!! I wasn't even at full zoom when I got the individual churches!

A day with the nieces!

Well, actually it was visiting a number of family at a local campground, but most of the time it was spent with the nieces.
The is Grammy and Annika having fun in the pool. Taylor helpingAnnika put on her saftey vest. This is Taylor climbing the equipment. She seemed to pose at the top so I'm like "ok" and took the picture tho she did need to move a little to block the blinding sun, LOL!
Another pic of Taylor who loves getting her pic taken! This is Holly on her bike, smiling with her cute dimples! This is the face of concentration right here! She bikes, but has trouble starting. LOL, I don't know how many times I heard her say "this is so hard!" Holly in the pool, having a blast! There was a load of ducks by the pond. All of which woddled off when you tried to get a pic, and since the new lens has not arrived YET, I didn't have much zoom, SIGH!!!
I didn't stay for the fire, or I would have more pics,lol. But the sun was so hot that day and I had a headache and could tell that the heat was getting the best of me. I was not feeling well so home I came!

UGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay so I don't use my blog to vent very often but I'm going to today I tell ya!!!!

Bad luck...if anyone has it, it's me. I mean really , how many people have at least 3 things going wrong at one time at all times. ME, that's who!!!

Let's start with my Employment insurance. This has not come yet and I applied on June 18th for god's sake!!!! First the school board has no concern for it's substitiute teachers and didn't send the Record of Employment until July 30th. Then Service Canada was SUPPOSED to have it processed within 3 weeks which is now late late late!!! So, we have been living off of 1 income for 2 months now when we are used to 2 incomes. It ticks me off that now matter how many times I explain this to service Canada, or the school board they just don't care!!!!!!

Second, I cancelled my insurence policy with ING because I was paying way to much for insurenace. I went with another company to save 200.00 a year. YAHHOO right...well kind of! See they take out a double payment the first month (um, what money, I don't have any!!!!). Meanwhile I get charged by the old company. Oh, they will reimburse me that payment plus one more because I paid one month in advance. Goody eh??? It's been weeks and I have yet to see that money reimbursed!!! What is the freakn hold up????? Nobody wants to give me my money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGHHHH!!!!

So, on the other end. I have been asked to do some photography work that has big possibilties that may even lead my to travel to the states. Big paying jobs (not just a couple hundred dollars, but a couple thousand dollars each time!!!!) But, that isn't set up yet and the smaller job requires that I SPEND MONEY!!! Yes, to take classroom photos, and photos of campuses and buildings I need a better lense. SO, I need to spend the money that I don't yet have to buy a lense.

Part 2 of this problem is that in typical Camera Corner fashion it is late late later!!!! Twice now I ahve dealt with them, first in purchasing the camera and now with this lense. They tell me that it will comne quickly and expect it by such a date. Well, both times that date came and went and I am waiting waiting waiting!!!! In the future I will no longer deal with Camera Corner. I mean I could have walked srtaight into staples and baught a canon lense and had it that day!!! No, I stupidly go into Camera corner first to see if they had any lenses in stock that would fit my camera which SURPRISE...they didn't. They inform me that the next lense up in my camera is a low end (it's good but I can get better) so, for more money I can get a better quality lense. No kidding, but I fell for it! This camera is decked out, I have yet to buy the beginner accessories for it, they have all been higher end! If only I had that lense that should have been in which I called about yuesterday and they have NO IDEA what is up with it!!!!!!

Something better happen soon or I am going to blow!! I'm a pregnant women ya know and people always say "well, their hormones" which I don't think is true... BUT I am soon going to use it as an excuse to take someones head off!!!!

The Buskers festival in Halifax!!!

FIRST,>>>>ROSE WON!!!!! SHE IS MS.GALAXY (CANADA). SHE WILL BE MOVING ON!!!!! I"M SO PLEASED THAT I WAS PART OF IT!!! THERE WAS A PHOTOGENIC PORTION OF THE COMPETETION SO THE PICTURES I TOOK WERE IMPORTANT,AND THAT I WAS ABLE TO HELP HER WIN!!!!

Okay, now the buskers. There is a festival in Halifax every year where street performers come and perform...then you are supposed to give them money foe their performance! LOL, they are not shy about asking you for money at all! It was a hot day and I had to use the washroom every 20 minutes or so, and I felt like crap, but it was still a good day either way!


This was the "Family freakout show"...he nailed a nail into his nose, swallowed fire and a ballon. He was good, and funny even though some jokes weren't kid friendly.
This duo was "Les Vitamines". They were comedy/acrobatic. They were strond were skinny little people. They were throwing each toher around like nothing!
These guys were "tic& Tac". They did, well, not really sure. They danced, joked and sis a few other little thins. They did do the helicopter where the one guys spins the other guy on his head.
While we ate this guy (who is the lead singer of CRUSH) sang. He was awesome!!!!
This was the last guy that we saw "MAX". His show was interrupted because a little boy had lost his dad. The boy was at MAX's station and his dad came during the show and they were reunited...TEAR JERKER!!!!! ANyway, this guy was a contortionist. He would dilocate his body to fit through the toilet seat. He pulled a guy along on a skateboard by chains attached to his ears!! He also took a taped $20 bill out of a bear trap with his teeth while standing on a two prond stand on his hands!!! Then it was off for home for us!!! There was more to see but it was a hot day, I was suffering my all day pregnancy issues, Trent was tired and so we left.

Ms. Galaxy Photoshoot #2...

A month ago I did a photoshoot with my gorgeous friend Rose who was entering the MS. Galaxy beauty pagaent. I though it was just Canadian, but no, it really does go international! Anyway, the first session we did not put makeup on her as in day-to-day she does not wear any. We decided that it would be good to do another shoot with hair and makeup done, and I am so glad we did. Rose is beautiful without makeup but she was just gortgeous with her hair and makeup done!

Rose was talking with an administrater for the pagaent and asked Rose to fulfil some duties next year, such as the crowning on MS. Novs Scotia (which Rose is currently), and train a girl in Truro. Rose was saying that this may bring more business my way as Rose would pass me along in her MS. Nova Scotia (and hopefully MS. Galaxy) endevors!!! Rose is leaving today for the first portion of the contest...GOOD LUCK ROSE!!!!
