OK, Last set of YK pics (I think, hehe)

First thing I need to do is make a correction: apparently Trent is at a Gold mine (not running naymore) not a diamond mine...my bad!!!My husband is a hunter do he has seem deer, bears, foxes, and perhaps a wolf but he has never mentioned if he has. BUT, he has never seen a caribou, and likely a wolf at all let alone one that is oure white. I should clarify...Trent got the pics from a guy that works with him up there at the mine as the road was a little far out and Trent can't just take a drive out that far. Though he has convinced someone to take him out before he leaves if it's not busy so that he can see some first hand, and to get some better pics, lol....Trent know what kind of pics I like!!!! Can we say close-up!!! In the meantimes folks I have pics of a herd of caribou and of the white wolf. They just hang out on the sides of the road and seem to have no fear of people. I really hope Trent does get to go out on the "ice road" and see these for himself, as it is another experience he gets to have....and he better get me some more pics darn it, hehehe!


Oh yeah, and this last pic was of a badger or wolverine. I don't know what those are, but Trent said it is the size of a small bear.

More PIcs from Yellow Knife....

Gosh it's been a long 3 weeks so far. Some might think that it isn't that long, and in really it isn't....but Trent and I are used to spending a lot of time together. Since he is my favorite person to be around then I miss him while he is gone! I have at least 50 pics from up in Yellow Knife, but I will not post them all, haha. Trent usually goes outside everyday. At first the weather was no different than here, but has gotten significantly colder as the time as passed. He has to do checks, and he has to meet commuter planes bringing supplies and people, and if anyone needs the use of the truck he must go as well as he must be ready for a call at any time. He will be home Feb 15th...YAHOO!!!!!!!

New Table!!!!!

My stepfather was kind enough to make me atable last year. It was round like I wanted and the perfect size for my dinning room (being the tiny litle space that it is). In the last few months my poor table has been turning into more of a bowl shape than a table.After getting over the guilt I decided it was time to get a new one. I needed new chairs anyway. Holy, was I shocked to see how much money you have to spend to get atable, but I lucked out finding one at 1/2 price with taxes included. YAHOO!!!!! I personally love it, and it fits my requirements. It is a round table by day, but if you guests over you can put the leaf in and you can seat more people. It is s great dark color with apolhsterd seats as you can see. Oh no, one probelm...the chairs stick out to far. I'll have to rearrange I think! LOL, I'm not that worried.

Friday Night Indulgence....

Sigh...what a relaxing night I had planned for Friday night. I started the evening off with a soak in the whirlpool tub. The hardest choice was deciding if I wanted to put bubbles in or not...cause if I put bubbles in a can't turn the jets on. They are not air, so the bubble bath can "gum" up the jets as they say! So I put out some candles and lit them,put some crystal light in a wine glass, grabbed my fluffy white robe,set the timer for the full 30 minutes and made the water as hot as I can stand it.

After the whirlpool bath I grabbed my snuggly little Dory...who was already waiting for me on the bed half asleep I made some popcorn and grabbed my book. It is the last in the trilogy by Nora Roberts.
I read in bed for a while and I watched Ghost Whisperer. In amongst this time I would pop into the computer room to talk to my hubby Trent. All in all, I had a quiet and relaxing night. Just what a girl needs from time to time.

Wednesday and Thursday....

Wednesday: Not an exciting day. I didn't work so I stayed home and Talked to Trent on MSN for a lot of the day. When I do that it is hard to get much else done. Oh, wait a minute....I did book an hour long couples massage for us at the local spa and a delux room and dinner reservation at an inn for the weekend following his arrival home. Cute place, and it is just what we need. To have some alone time without phone calls, pets and errands, and just to see each other after a month of not. Oh yes, it was yoga day. My first day at yoga. I am taking a 3 month class my with friend Lisa, and am pretty excited for it. I wasn't sure if I was suppose to wear bare feet or not so I thought "OMG...better pretty these puppies up", so I painted a toenails a purplish color.
I think I will be taking better care of my feet over the next couple of months becayse you do go barefeet,lol!!!!!!! I didn't get a pic of the yoga room as it was just a regular dark basement classroom and the local coomunity college.Tight quarters for 16 women to spread out...means someones gonna get a but in the face.HAHAHAHA..not it wsn't that bad at all.

Thursday: Yoga hurts!!!! Where did those muscles come from, holy? At least I know it works right. I had to shovel this morining before I go tready for school. I only did a half day though. We were only suppsoed to get 1 cm and got like 4 inches..what??? It was pretty though. I like the look os snow.
I watched General hospital at 4:00. It has been sooooooo good lately! And then Grey's Anatomy was on at 9:00...that's prime tv watching right there. I talked with Trent ofcourse, adn my friend from th education program popped on.OMG, this was the first time I have spoken to her in some time(like 10 months or so). It was so nice to talk her, we became friends istantly and have kinds missed her. I love that I have friends I don't have to talk to them every day and we can always just pick right up where we left off. She's coming up in a couple of weeks to visit her sister and we are looking to get togethr then. I am looking forward to that!

Dory and I !!!!

Dory likes to snuggle with me when I talk to Trent on MSN (which is a lot). Heaven forbid that she not get any attentions from either one of us. I took these pics yesterday and sent them to Trent so that he would have e new pic of us to have on his computer incase he gets homesick. In the first pic I had to remove myself using some tricks...I just couldn't get the angle right trying to hold her and the camera,lol. The second pic of Dory and I...I really liked, which is big considering that I hate my own picture!!!! This wasn't an exciting entry, but I really haven't been doing much since I finished the kitchen. Next time I will have something a little more engaging to talk about,lolol!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been almost a week...

Trent ahs been gone for almost a week now and it has been a long one. I was able to redo the kitchen during this time though. I tore off the hidious border that came witht he house when we baught it, and painted a color that matches completely with the color tile on the counter. Yes I took pics, but I thought I would share some pics that Trent sent me from Colomac,NWT instead. These are from the diamond mine that he is contracting as a paramedic at. I cannot tell you to much about them, cause I don't know much.

Catching up....

It has been two days since Trent has left and in between talking to him and other stuff I have managed to complete 2 layouts. This first layout is a round one,lol incase you couldn't tell. My sister-in-law/friends asked if I wanted to do a round layout challange with her lastnight and this is what I did.
This second layout is one that I have put off for a long time. I have difficulty using more that 2 pics in a layout....so I guess this is my own little challange!!!!
These next pics are of Trent, his mom and myself at the airport. We had about 10 minute with him after checkout and we managed to get pics of it!!! Now that they are on the computer I can send them to Trent. PS...don't mind the way I look...I was up at 3:30 ya know,lol.

First day away!!!! 1 day down-27ish to go.....

Trent and I had a suprise of getting a phone call on Thrurday afternoon to find out that he would be travelling to Yellow Knife the next morning at 7:00 am. We were shocked and upset because we thought that we were going to have another 4-5 days, and now it was cut short. So, yesrterday we got up at 3:30 in the morning and got ready to go to the airport. We met his mother at 4:30 and she came with us. Two reasons for this: she would want to see her "baby" off since he gone for a month to a very far away place and second is that I have never driven to or from the airport before and sisn't think that this day should be my crash course being upset and all.
We actually arrived at the airport pretty much in time for Trent to check-in(which is automated now) and have only about 10-15 minutes before he had to go. Seeing him off was hard ofcourse. We were standing there, voices cracking both trying not to cry...and then he was gone. Ofcourse by the time I got home I was ready to talk to him again and couldn't. Hate that!!!!! He works 12 hour shifts heer at home but I talk to him whenever I want, so this was a weird feeling for me. The day seemed long and sad.
Finally, he called here around 6:15 our time. He was at the office in Yellow Knife and all was well. So the evening perked up because I spoke to time on the phone and saw him with the webcam on MSN after. Today he said it was sightseeing and reading for when he arrives at the mine. I should have pics by today some time so if you haven't been to Yellow Knife and are curious what it looks like then check back in.

A gift for a friend..

My friend Angie had little Drew back in September. I had made her a little 6x6 album for her to put some pics in. I thought that because it was small it would be portable and she could put in her diaper bag so we would always have some of her fav pics with her to show people. Because of life being busy I had not had the chance to meet little Drew for all this time, and I finally got to meet him on Sunday. I gave her the book and then I brought it back home with me so that I could put the pics in. She sent her favs and I diluted the color in them and put htem in the book. I left areas for her to journal in if she choses to, and now it is done.
