In the yard....

I love nature pictures....taking them is a hobby. It is not something I want to get into doing professionally (though there is a guy here in the valley who does shot for Nation Geographic and gets paid very well). LOL!!!! ANyway, so I have a large amount of nature shots and nothing to do with them!!! And yet I can't seem to stop taking them.

I treid foe a butterfly, which I got...but I think I am going to keep trying for a prettier butterfly. The one I got was all white and had his wings closed so it's not really worth showing! Maybe by the end of summer i will have one to show!

Scrapbookingroom/computer room finished!

Okay, so I know that it is not as fancy as some rooms that I have seen but I got what I wanted...which is a scrapbooking room and computer room all in one. Except for the ceiling everything is completely done in this room so it is now being used. I haven't done a scrapbooking page in FOREVER so I think it must be time to christen the scrapbooking room. Eventually this table will be replaced with something perhaps a little smaller or something that I can make bigger when I need it to be.

Anyway, now that all the trim is done we are able to start putting furniture in the recroom as well. the sofabed that we got a good deal on will be here within the week and then I can move the sofa table that goes behind it. The entertainment centre wil come down as soon as the armoir arrives for upstairs (curtesy of our friends)who no longer have the space for it. The bar will be making it's way to recroom shortly (thank goodness, cause it takes up a bit of space in the diningroom). Then once the furniture is placed then I can hang some pictures and add accesories. Just needing a bigger TV now! LOL, it's been a long haul, but now we can start enjying what we've worked for.

Now I'm hoping Teri-lynn will come down and try out the new scrapbooking room. LAst time I had to lug everything upstairs which was a pain and now everything will be at our fingertips...and should we decide to have a drink it's also at our fingertips!!!!

Annual Family Camping Trip....

Day 1:
The first day it was sunny when we left but rainy in New Brunswick. It felt like a really long trip....and I guess it was (4-5 hours). When we got there it was not raining long enough for us to set up. As the family is, everyone was there to help set up the tent. It was kind of fummy having a tent because the whole family camp sites were grouped together in one area and they all had these:

Day 2:

When we woke up there was lots of rain on the ground because it rained ALL NIGHT---SIGH!!!! But, I got some nice pictures of raindrops on the nature. The guys went golfing after breakfast as it was a tiny bit suuny so my Aunt Trudy and I had the adventure of driving into Miramichi. I never dribe anywhere, let alone in a different province!!!!! It was nice having Trudy...she watched the road signs and never swore once,LOL!!!!
Everynight the family takes turns having the campfire. This night it was at Nanny and Perki's site and they were having mussels and clams (GROSS)!!!! It had been mentioned that fabric softener sheets would keep mosquitos away so we tried it. I wanted of a pic on Nanny cause she had it sticking out of her hat but when you'd aim the camera she moved qiocker than I expected and removed it. I caught just theis one of it!

Day 3: It rained and we went to Moncton with Eric and Trudy. No pics for this day!!

Last day:
Uncle Kevin had showed up during the week and he used a Tent. He flooded as Trent and I had. He was using a pot to scoop up the water from the tent. His luck had run out, not only did that happen but the bottom of his case of beer made the box soggy so when he was moving it...it dropped and lost about 6 of his beer. Now, the Perkins men love their beer so there was some mourning happening by Kevin, Perki, Trent etc... while picking up all the broken glass. Then Kevin moved his tent to a drier area but didn't peg down the tent yet, the wind caught it and it started cartwheeling away...boy can Kevin run when he wants to. That happened so fast I couldn't get a pic :( but it was soooo funny!

Miscellanous:

Baby Adrian arrived the night before we left. He is very sweet and well tempered! The squirrel became part of the family while we were there. Trudy could even pet the little thing and it would come up to all of us to get nuts all day.

Latest updates.

Well, as you can see the baseboards are not up, we were on fire getting the flooring done, adn I was really hoping to have it done before our vacation to NB. It didn't happen! The door jams were giving us trouble, and the trim around the door.
This is our floor. Not as dark as we would have liked..sigh...but the darker you went the more expensive it got!!!! I guess it worked out because there isn't a lot of light down there anyway and this will brighten it up. Hopefully when we gat back from camping I will be able to show you the ceramic tiles in the laundry room and get those baseboards up quickly!!

Ms. Galaxy Contest!!!!

I was pleased to have helped out a friend this year for a competetion/pageant called the "Ms. Galaxy Contest". This friend had been in this competetion in previous years and did very well!! In those past years she had asked a friend to take her pictures but felt that they weren't "looking the same" as the other contestants photos. I had told her that I was looking for people to put in my portfolio and she needed portraits for the photogenic aspect of competetions. So, I took her pictures. There were some requirements such as she needed some 3/4 length pictures, and with sash and crown. We had over a 2 hour session, and I took over 200 pictures, but we were both pleased with the process and she has said she would be avaiable anytime for more pics. Rose is beautiful, in fact she isn't wearing make-up in these pictures at all!!!! I took some photos that involve a lot of bare skin and and satin sheet, but I told her that I would not include those in my portfolio therefore cannot show them to you. I will say they that they turned out very nicely, and am so happy that she let me take them!!! PS: Some people are probably getting tired of hearing about my photography, but it is summer and I am not teaching and this is what I am doing...so, this is what I have to talk about!

Basement walls finished, YAHOO!!!

So, it has been a long process of building, insulating drywalling, taping, mudding, sanding, priming and painting the wall in the basement. We finished all the touch-ups on the wall and the floor is being delivered sometime today along with the baseboards and door moldings. Thr faceplates for the plugs are on and we have the stuff to lay the flooring. My parents will likely to the ceramic in the laundry room.

It has been a lot of work, and our spare time has been devoted to this, but it gives us another 245 square feet of finished living space (as we are not counting the furnace or laundry rooms in the square footage). I am so pleased. Especially since Trent and I did 90% of the work ourselves, and it looks good. Keep looking, because I will put more pictures on as we go along.
